The commotion in Imane area of Olamaboro

Traditional Chief Cap
There is an uneasy calm in the ancient community of Imane in Olamaboro local government area of Kogi State as the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs split the position of Oda Ojiji with the recent appointments it made.

Having gone through all the known processes within the government and the traditional institutions, Fred I. Adeojo was waiting for the staff of office, only to be denied in the last minute decision of the power that be.

The Idere Ruling House in a protest letter said that it was dismayed that despite “our choice of candidate, Hon Fred Adeojo and his subsequent recommendation by the Olamaboro Traditional Council and Igala Traditional Council to the Kogi State Council of Chiefs, the government went the other way to appoint a different person, Mr Ibrahim Salihu.”

The letter further stressed that Ibrahim Salifu was appointed Odah Ojiji of Imane when labour in the state was on strike and the judiciary was also affected.

The four ruling clans that signed the paper averred that government’s decision was against natural justice and that the “Idede Clan and Imane, reject it without equivocation till the wrong is right and the proper person for the throne, Hon Fred I Adeojo is duely appointed.”
