2019: Sanction APC for abusing electoral guidelines – Kogi PDP tells INEC The Kogi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has decried what it called early open campaign by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), in the state, contrary to the timetable released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Kogi State - The State Executive Committee (SEC) of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kogi State suspended its chairman, Sam Uhuot after the SEC members passed a vote of no confidence  executive members gave Uhuot a vote of no confidence after they claimed that he violated some provisions of the party's constitution.

Benin City - The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has distanced itself from the results of the governorship election announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) In a press conference held at its governorship candidate, Osagie Ize-Iyamu’s Ugbo Raod residence in Benin City, PDP said the results being announced by INEC, which indicates the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Godwin Obaseki was in a comfortable lead, were predetermined fabrication.

A ruling of the Supreme Court upholding the election of Gov. Yahaya Bello on Tuesday did not meet expectations of being “untainted by lucre”, a former governor of the state, Idris Wada, who challenged the election, said. The court said Mr. Bello was validly elected, and dismissed cases filed by Mr. Wada and James Faleke, a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC. Mr. Faleke said he should have replaced Abubakar Audu, the first candidate of the party in the November 2015 election, after Mr. Audu’s sudden death. The APC nominated Mr. Bello, instead. Mr. Wada, the immediate past governor and a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, said the election was flawed. “Though we expected the noble dispensers of Justice at the Apex court to have delivered a judgment that will be untainted by lucre and un-cowed by the threat of immoral power; unfortunately, it was not to be,” Mr. Wada said in a statement signed by his Chief Communications Manager, Phrank Shai...
